Saruodaki Waterfalls

Since the falls look like the tail (“o”) of a monkey (“saru”), they were named Saruodaki. The falls have two parts. The upper part (called otaki) has a rugged rock surface, where water falls straight down in a rough and masculine way. The lower part (called metaki) has a cracked rock surface, where water smoothly runs down in an elegant and feminine way. Enjoy different flavors of the falls in all four seasons such as new green leaves in spring and autumn colors of leaves.
